Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunohistochemical staining of acetone-fixed frozen sections,in vitro activation1 and in vivo depletion2 of Vβ 8.2 TCR+ T cells.

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤1.0 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Description:

The R78 antibody recognizes the specific T cell receptor β chain Vβ 8.2/8.4. The TCR β chain interacts with the TCR α chain and CD3 to form an antigen binding and signaling complex. TCR α and β are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily expressed on most peripheral T cells, intestinal epithelial lymphocytes, and thymocytes. TCR Vβ 8.2/8.4 is expressed on a subset of TCR α/β-bearing T cells. The CD3/TCR complex plays a key role in antigen recognition, signal transduction, and T cell activation. The α/β TCR recognizes peptide bound to MHC class I and II. The R78 antibody is useful for the analysis of T cell receptor repertoire.
