Application Notes:

mAb 4B2.9 specifically recognizes γ/δ T cells expressing Vγ1.1 and/or Vγ1.2 chains.

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤1.0 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained

C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with TCR Vγ1.1 + Vγ1.2 (clone 4B2.9) PE (top) or Armenian hamster IgG PE isotype control (bottom).


In mice, the TCR g locus consists of seven Vg, four Jg and four Cg genes, which are differentially expressed through their lifespan. During fetal and early postnatal life, very few γ/δ T cells express TCR Vγ1.1 or Vγ1.2 chains. In adult mice, however, a major fraction of the γ/δ T cell repertoire comprise either TCR Vγ1.1 or Vγ1.2 chains. The Vγ1.1 gene rearranges almost exclusively with the Jg4-Cg4 genes, while the Vγ1.2 gene preferentially does with Jg1.
