Clone: 14.27
Isotype: Mouse IgG2b, κ
Reactivity: Rat
Formulation: Phosphate-buffered solution, pH 7.2, containing 0.09% sodium azide.
Preparation: The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography.
Concentration: 0.5 mg/ml
Storage & Handling: The antibody solution should be stored undiluted between 2°C and 8°C.
Application:

FC - Quality tested
IHC, WB - Reported in the literature

Application Notes:

Additional reported applications (for the relevant formats) include: immunohistochemistry1 and Western blotting1.

Recommended Usage:

Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunofluorescent staining with flow cytometric analysis. For flow cytometric staining, the suggested use of this reagent is ≤0.5 µg per million cells in 100 µl volume. It is recommended that the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.

Lou rat splenocytes were stained

Lou rat splenocytes were stained with purified anti-rat CD38 (clone 14.27, filled histogram), or purified mouse IgG2b, κ isotype control (open histogram), followed by anti-mouse IgG FITC.

Description:

CD38 is a 45 kD type II transmembrane ADP-ribosyl cyclase expressed on early hematopoietic precursors and leukocytes, hepatic stellate cells, astrocytes and epithelial cells. CD38 expression can be upregulated upon cell activation. CD38 catalyzes the production of cyclic APD ribose, which is important in Ca2+ release. CD38 induces production of proinflammatory cytokines and proliferation. The ligand for CD38 is CD31. Impairment in CD38 expression is associated with immunological and behavioral disorders.

Other Names: T10 , ADP-ribosyl cyclase
Structure: CD38 is a 45 kD type II transmembrane protein.
Distribution: Early hematopoietic precursors and leukocytes, astrocytes, hepatic stellate cells, and epithelial cells; upregulated upon activation.
Function: CD38 catalyzes the production of cyclic APD ribose, which is important in Ca2+ release. CD38 induces production of proinflammatory cytokines and proliferation.
